Why We Don’t Allow Outside Dogs on Our Property

At World Class Cavaliers, the health and safety of our dogs and puppies are our top priorities. As a responsible breeder, we have strict biosecurity measures in place, which is why we do not allow outside dogs on our property. While we understand that some potential buyers may wish to bring their current pets for a visit, there are several critical reasons why this policy is essential.

1. Preventing the Spread of Disease
One of the biggest risks of allowing outside dogs onto our property is the potential introduction of infectious diseases and parasites. Even if a dog appears healthy, they can carry viruses, bacteria, or parasites that can be fatal to young puppies. Some of the most concerning illnesses include:
• Parvovirus – A highly contagious and often deadly virus, especially for unvaccinated puppies. It can be carried on a dog’s fur, paws, or even on human clothing and shoes.
• Canine Distemper – Another severe virus that spreads easily and can be fatal.
• Kennel Cough & Respiratory Infections – Even mild symptoms in an adult dog can be dangerous to puppies with developing immune systems.
• Internal & External Parasites – Fleas, ticks, and worms can be unknowingly brought onto the property, affecting our dogs.
2. Protecting Our Puppies’ Immune Systems
Puppies have weaker immune systems than adult dogs, especially before they have completed their full set of vaccinations. Exposure to even minor illnesses can be detrimental to their health and development. By maintaining a controlled environment, we reduce their risk of exposure to harmful pathogens.
3. Reducing Stress and Maintaining a Calm Environment
Our breeding dogs and puppies thrive in a calm, structured environment. The introduction of unfamiliar dogs can cause stress, anxiety, and even aggression, disrupting their well-being. Protecting our dogs’ mental and emotional health is just as important as their physical health.
4. Liability and Safety Concerns
Allowing outside dogs onto our property presents liability risks. Even the most well-behaved dogs can have unpredictable reactions in new environments. If a visiting dog were to show aggression or cause harm to one of our puppies, dogs, or even visitors, the situation could become legally and ethically complicated.
5. Maintaining a Professional Breeding Program
As a reputable breeder, we adhere to strict ethical breeding practices and sanitation protocols. Part of this commitment means controlling every aspect of our dogs’ environment to ensure they receive the best possible care. Allowing outside dogs onto the property would compromise the standards we have worked hard to maintain.

How We Ensure a Safe and Transparent Experience
While we do not allow outside dogs on our property, we still want our potential puppy owners to feel comfortable and informed. Here’s how we ensure transparency while keeping our dogs safe:
• Meet-and-Greet - A 45 minutes visit, to meet up to three of our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies for sale. This appointment requires a $100 non-refundable deposit. No other breeders or pet stores can be visited the same day, there is limit of 3 visitors, only children 7 years and up are able to hold the puppy and the puppies must have their second set of vaccinations.
• Virtual Meet-and-Greet Options – We offer video calls for those who want to see our puppies and facility before visiting.
• Strict Sanitation Measures for Visitors – When you visit, we may ask you to sanitize your hands and wear clean footwear to reduce the risk of contamination.
• Honest and Open Communication – We are happy to provide vet records, genetic testing results are published on our website, and answer any questions about our breeding program.
Our Priority: Healthy, Happy Puppies
Our goal is to place healthy, well-socialized puppies into loving homes, and limiting outside exposure is a crucial part of achieving that. We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of our potential puppy owners in helping us maintain a safe and responsible breeding environment.
If you have any questions about our policies, we are always happy to discuss them. Thank you for supporting responsible breeding practices!
Best,
